The official activities of the Klaus-Grawe-Foundation are the promotion of lectures and presentations held by outstanding scientists on the occasion of the annual meeting for clinical psychology by the German Association for Psychology as well as the bestowal of the Klaus-
Grawe-Award to innovative scientists. Besides this, the Klaus-Grawe-Foundation organizes regular Think-Tank-Meetings on specific topics.
The annual meeting for clinical psychology by the German Society of Psychology (GSP), subsection Clinical Psychology, is one of the most important events for research-based clinical psychologists within the German-speaking world. The majority of the professors in this field as well
as many psychologists that work in the area of psychotherapy and psychotherapy research are members of this association. As part of the annual meeting, the Klaus-Grawe-Foundation organizes a “Klaus-Grawe-Lunch-Lecture”. This is a lecture held by an internationally renowned
scientist who does innovative research in the field of prevention and/or development and treatment of psychic disorders.
Every other year, the meeting of the German Association for Psychology is held on a larger scale. In order to advance a fruitful exchange between research and practice, the conference is also open to practicing psychotherapists that do not do research. On the occasion of this two-
yearly meeting “Science and Practice,” the Klaus-Grawe-Foundation grants the “Klaus-Grawe-Award for the Adcancement of Innovative Research in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy”. This award is endowed with 10,000 Euros and was granted for the first time in 2007.
The annual “Klaus-Grawe-Lunch-Lecture” and the bestowal of the “Klaus-Grawe-Award for the Advancement of Innovative Research in Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy”, the Klaus-Grawe-Foundation supports the organization and financing of workshops for experts of a specific
field within psychotherapy research. These workshops are called “Klaus-Grawe-Think-Tank-Meetings”.
